Five channels, checked live on 9 October 2026. Every line traces to a source captioned on the page.
| Channel | SortedMate | Rounded | Sole | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google rankings 6 money searches | Page one on 0 of 6 | Page one on 4 of 6 | Page one on 4 of 6 | Rounded is first for sole trader accounting app. SortedMate is not in the top 10 on any of the six yet. |
| Google Ads Transparency Centre, AU | 0 ads on record | 40 ads on record | 35 ads on record | Both apps pay Google. Sole's ad in view leads with snapping receipts, your own promise. |
| Meta Ads Ad Library, active now | No ads found | None under its name | None under its name | The searches for Rounded and Sole return other advertisers. Your Meta pixel is already firing. |
| Landing page Where the click lands | $0 plan, pricing, store buttons | Sign-up and trial buttons | Contact form, two products | Your homepage states its price and its starting offer more plainly than either competitor. |
| Reputation Google rating (reviews) | No profile found | No profile found | No profile found | Apps are rated in the app stores more than on Google. None of the three has a Google listing under its own name. |
SortedMate already does what most apps do not: one promise in five words, a $0 plan with no card needed, pricing at $9.99 a month on the homepage, and GA4 and the Meta pixel firing. It is not yet on page one for the six searches here. Rounded and Sole hold four each and have 40 and 35 Google ads on record.
Six searches a sole trader types before choosing a receipt or tax app, read live from Google Australia on 9 October 2026.

| receipt scanner app australia | Medium est. | Not in top 10 | Not in top 10 | Not in top 10 |

Store listings hold the top of receipt scanner app Australia: Crunchr on the App Store, Easy Expense on Google Play, then the ATO's own myDeductions. Google's question box on gst tracking app asks what the best app for GST is, so the searcher is choosing an app today.
The chain, with every assumption written down. Deliberately conservative.
The six searches in this report, at an example volume for Australian searches in this category. An example, not a measured figure.
The clicks you do not get today, once your pages sit around position three, rounded down.
Sign-ups at 2% of those visits, rounded down. People compare several apps before they sign up.
Sign-ups to the $0 plan, not paying users. Monthly is $9.99 and annual $79 on your homepage, so the value depends on how many upgrade.
Halve the example volume and it is still one or two sign-ups a month going to the apps above you today. The offer and pricing to catch them are already on your homepage.
Estimates, not promises. Each assumption is deliberately conservative so the number holds up.
Build a page each for receipt scanner app, sole trader accounting app and tax app for tradies, link your five guides into them, add app schema, and put the search words into your App Store and Google Play titles.
| Advertiser | Ads on record | Last ran | Headline seen | Lands on | Offer on the page |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rounded | 40 | Not dated | "Get Paid Faster with Rounded. Finally Feel In Control Of Your Business Finances" | rounded.com.au | Sign up and trial buttons, pricing in the menu |
| Sole | 35 | Not dated | "Snap Receipts Instantly - Stop Losing Paper Receipts" | soleapp.com.au | Two products and a Contact Sole form |
| SortedMate | 0 | Nothing on record | Nothing running | sortedmate.com.au | A $0 plan, no credit card needed |
Rounded has 40 ads on record pointing to its domain and Sole 35. Sole's ad in view leads with snapping receipts, which is your promise. Xero and MYOB ads showed on gst tracking app. A capped search campaign on the six terms, landing on your homepage, is the fastest way to be seen while the pages climb.
Your homepage sells well: one promise, a $0 plan with no card needed, $9.99 a month or $79 a year, and store buttons. Sign-up happens in the app, so I did not test it. GA4 and the Meta pixel fire on the homepage. No Google Ads tag was seen. The five stars under the button carry no count or source.
Theirs: nothing under their names in the feed. On Google, Sole's ad already leads with snapping receipts. Missing: a headline written to the tradie with a shoebox of receipts in June, not to accounting.
Theirs: no copy in the library. Missing: named proof. Your homepage shows a real receipt, $128.40 with GST of $11.67 read out, which is the kind of specific a sole trader believes.
Theirs: no creative to compare. Missing: the product in a hand. Your kangaroo mascot and the snap-to-report flow show in one frame what the app does.
Why this matters: a stronger headline and hook lifts click-through. Higher click-through lowers what Meta charges per click. Cheaper clicks mean more visits from the same budget, and more visits mean more sign-ups. In this comparison nobody is in the feed by name, and your pixel is already collecting, so the cost of learning what works is as low as it will get.
Rounded has 40 Google ads on record and Sole 35. A small campaign on the six searches here, landing on your homepage and its $0 plan, brings sign-ups while the organic work takes hold.
GA4 and the Meta pixel already fire. Adding the Google Ads tag on sign-up means every new user can be traced to the click that sent them.
Two of the top three results for receipt scanner app Australia are store listings. Naming the search in your App Store and Google Play titles lets your listings compete for it.
Your five guides cover invoicing and GST. A page each for receipt scanner app, sole trader accounting app and tax app for tradies gives Google something to rank.
Neither Rounded nor Sole is in the feed by name and your pixel is already live. A small test aimed at tradies and sole traders is the cheapest audience in this report to learn from.
Fifteen minutes on the phone, no pitch. I will walk you through the three pages worth building first and what a capped search campaign to your homepage would cost.
Book a time with DeanAt 18 I started a corporate events company doing photo booths, DJing and photography. I could not afford an agency, so I taught myself web development, Meta Ads, Google Ads and SEO off YouTube, got myself to number one on Google, and took it to roughly $300,000.
