Six searches a parent types before choosing a tutor, read live from Google Australia on 9 October 2026.

Google's map listings sit first for primary school tutor, with Cluey's primary page second. Google's own question box asks how much a primary school tutor costs per hour. You already publish your pricing, so a page that answers that question in plain numbers is the obvious one to build.
The chain, with every assumption written down. Deliberately conservative.
The six searches in this report, at an example volume for parents in Melbourne and online. An example, not a measured figure.
The clicks you do not get today, once your pages sit around position three, rounded down.
Enquiries at 5% of those visits, rounded down.
Parent enquiries, not enrolled students. What a new student is worth over a school year is your number, not mine.
Halve the example volume and it is still two parent enquiries a month going to Cluey and the directories above you today. For a one-tutor practice in Fawkner, that is a meaningful share of a timetable.
Estimates, not promises. Each assumption is deliberately conservative so the number holds up.
Move the site onto its own domain, build one page per subject and year group (reading, literacy, maths, primary English), add a Melbourne and Fawkner page with local schema, and answer the cost-per-hour question on the pricing page.

About 3,000 ads on record point to clueylearning.com.au and 25 to alchemytuition.com.au. The Alchemy ad in view is written for Sydney. A capped search campaign on the Melbourne reading, literacy and primary English terms, landing on your enquiry page, puts a local tutor in front of the parents those national brands are paying for.
Your contact page has a parent form asking for the child's name, year level, suburb and what they need help with. It loads and is visible. I did not submit it. The homepage has no enquiry form, and no GA4, Tag Manager, Google Ads or Meta tag fired on the homepage load.
Theirs: Cluey leads with the parent's worry, "ADHD isn't a lack of ability". Missing: anything local. The Cluey ads seen are national and online, which leaves room for a Melbourne tutor parents can meet.
Theirs: Alchemy leans on volume proof, "more than 5000 five-star reviews". Missing: a named person. Your site already has Naomi, a 5.0 rating and parent quotes, which is proof a national brand cannot copy.
Theirs: Alchemy runs short videos under the link "Book an Alchemy Tutor Today". Missing: a smaller first step. Your Learning Check-In is a specific, low-risk offer a parent can say yes to from the feed.
Why this matters: a stronger headline and hook lifts click-through. Higher click-through lowers what Meta charges per click. Cheaper clicks mean more visits from the same budget, and more visits mean more enquiries. Both competitors are already paying for this audience, so the parents are proven to respond to tutoring ads in the feed.
Both competitors have Google ads on record and you have none. A small campaign on the Melbourne reading, literacy and primary English searches, landing on your parent form, brings enquiries while the organic work takes hold.
No tracking tag fired on your homepage. GA4, the Google Ads conversion tag and the Meta pixel mean every enquiry can be traced to the click that sent it.
Cluey and Alchemy are both in parents' feeds. A small Meta test offering your Learning Check-In to families near Fawkner gives parents a specific, low-risk first step.
The sitemap holds 30 URLs and none targets a subject search. Pages for reading, literacy, maths and primary English in Melbourne, on your own domain, are what page one is built from.
You have the best rating in this comparison from 9 reviews. Asking each family at the end of a term keeps the count climbing toward a number parents trust at a glance.
Fifteen minutes on the phone, no pitch. I will walk you through the subject pages worth building first and what a capped search campaign to your enquiry form would cost.
Book a time with DeanAt 18 I started a corporate events company doing photo booths, DJing and photography. I could not afford an agency, so I taught myself web development, Meta Ads, Google Ads and SEO off YouTube, got myself to number one on Google, and took it to roughly $300,000.
Everything in this report I can read because I have spent my own money on the exact channels it covers. What follows is not theory. It is what I would fix first.
